License Plate Decals

License plate decals or “car tags” can be used blank for painting or other decorative projects or they can be used for vinyl projects.

Production of vinyl decals starts with drawing and designing what the final product should look like.  The design is created using specialized computer software that is connected to a large cutting plotter.

Once the design is finished the selected vinyl is loaded into the cutting plotter.  The plotter is controlled by the software.  It receives instructions from the software and cuts the design on the vinyl.

The weeding process starts after the design is cut on the vinyl.  As the name says the excess vinyl is weeded out until the only vinyl that is left is the one that makes the design.

Next, the license plate decal is cleaned to remove debris and dust.  Then the license plate decal is placed on a flat and stable surface.

A transfer tape is used to transfer design to the license plate decal .  The transfer tape is placed over the cut vinyl.  This allows us to remove the supporting sheet that holds the cut vinyl together.  Once the supporting sheet is removed the vinyl is placed on the license plate decal.  The adhesive on the vinyl will keep the decal and the vinyl together.  As the last step the transfer tape is removed.
