The Christmas Box Angel Statue was introduced to the world in the book The Christmas Box, a worldwide bestseller and hit television movie by author Richard Paul Evans. Currently there are Christmas Box Angels in more than 120 other areas worldwide. We at G.A.R. Cemetery are believed to be the only location along the Historic Route 66 to have this special angel.

On December 6th at 7:00 p.m., a candlelight healing ceremony will be held at our Angel of Hope monument. During the ceremony, the attendees will be invited to leave a white flower at the base of the angel statue and have the name of their Angel spoken aloud.

G.A.R. Cemetery will provide the candles and shields as well as the white flowers. It is not necessary for your Angel to be interred within G.A.R. Ceremony to attend, and we encourage all to come who have lost a loved one, young or old… because we are all someone’s child.

There will be lighting at the entrance gate leading to the Angel of Hope monument this year to help with finding the ceremony location.

This ceremony is free to the public.
